– The Gypsies: “We”… the Romanos, Bohemians, Manouches… an exhibition by Robert MATTHEY on the theme of the travelling people… who no longer travel. Thirty-five gypsy families live in the Chênes Blancs housing estate in the Ariane neighborhood of Nice.
Robert MATTHEY’s photographs are a poignant testimony of the daily life of these sedentary people.
These snapshots also illustrate a book entitled “We the Romanos, Bohemians,
Manouches, Gypsies…” (Editions Wallâda – 2010), which is part of this memory work initiated by the Innovative Association of Chênes Blancs.
