The entire universe and extravagance of Alfredo Arias in a completely Argentine theatrical and musical show!
With this musical piece, Alfredo Arias crafts a notebook tracing back to his past in Argentina, fueled by literature, song, and poetry. It was upon reading the memoirs of Miguel de Molina, a Spanish homosexual singer who fled the Franco dictatorship for Argentina, that he felt the urgent need to share his adventurous and convoluted life…
The result is “Tatouage,” a whimsical and spirited jewel centered on the encounter between Miguel de Molina and Eva Perón, the wife of the Argentine dictator who gave him refuge. From this reality, Alfredo Arias weaves unique images, invents lively and suggestive dialogues interspersed with songs, and punctuated with music-hall numbers. He transforms into a candid and shrewd narrator, playful and anxious, to evoke the complicity between Eva Perón and this artist nicknamed “the red madwoman.”
Arias’s art lies in joyfully blending poetry, madness, eccentric characters, and absurd situations; in short, the aesthetic artifices of an extravagant theatricality to express the accursed hearts.
