For its first regional edition, the contest “Rencontres en toutes lettres,” organized by the Côte d’Azur Mail Division of La Poste, was a success with more than 300 letters received (over a hundred of which were from other French regions).
On Friday, April 29th, the winners of the 3 categories (general public, high school students, and postal workers) and the “culture papier” award will receive their prizes at the Noailles Media Library in Cannes.
The award ceremony will be “theatricalized” by the theater company “Une petite voix m’a dit.”
Open to as many people as possible, the objective of this contest was to engage the general public with the emotions of writing and paper as a medium, in order to inspire or rekindle the desire to write.
As a prelude to this award ceremony (starting at 3 PM), the theme of correspondence will be highlighted by several artists, including:
– Patrick Moya: the artist from Nice will perform live on-site
– Kristian: the editorial cartoonist will sign his drawings for the public
– Jean-Pierre Guéno: the writer and author of “La vie en toutes lettres” and co-author of “Paroles de poilus” and “Paroles de l’ombre” will sign his books
