In 1951, it was called “Elderly Day.” The objective: to organize a national collection to help the most “needy,” six years after the end of the Second World War. At the same time, many initiatives focused on conviviality gradually developed: teas, dance meals, sending flowers and postcards, etc. After changing names several times, it is now called “Blue Week.” A new title accompanied by the slogan: “365 days to act, 7 days to say it.” Seven days to promote intergenerational relationships and highlight the role and place of seniors who are now active and engaged citizens. This week takes place from October 18 to 24, 2010, on a national level. In Nice, it begins on October 18 and ends on the 22nd. For five days, the achievements and projects undertaken for the benefit of Nice’s 100,000 seniors will be highlighted by various stakeholders in charge of this field.
