Imagined by the association “Les Mรฉduses,” which aims to promote cinema, the 1st Fantastic Week of Cinema began yesterday at the Cinema Mercury. The goal? “To highlight fantasy films from the past and present. They are fantastic in every sense of the word, both in genre and story,” says Hรฉlรจne Mayet, the President of the association. Until October 31, 2010, the public can attend premieres, previously unseen films in Nice, or short and feature film competitions. The film “Rubber,” presented at the Cannes Festival this year, was screened yesterday as a Nice premiere. On Saturday night, a special Tim Burton evening will be offered with “Batman,” “Batman Returns,” and “Beetlejuice.” During the closing session, which takes place for the Halloween celebration, “The NeverEnding Story” will be screened. On this occasion, “people will come in disguise,” indicates Hรฉlรจne Mayet. These are events not to be missed. “Les Mรฉduses” have also prepared some surprises for you.
