This charanga with floral violins has traveled the world, from Japan to the Caribbean, making Colombia, the United States, Europe, and Africa dance. Even today, it continues to spin cha-cha-cha, bolero, danzón, and guaracha ad libitum. With class and relaxation… That is the quiet strength of this epic journey that began in 1939 in Cienfuegos thanks to the musician Oreste Aragón: having always been able to maintain the delicate curves of its melodies.
It was in 1965 that the great “Music Hall de Cuba” tour brought the Aragón to France for the first time, where they were acclaimed for three weeks at the Olympia… In November 1971, the Aragón discovered Africa, which would leave its mark on the group’s music. The album “La Charanga Eterna” marks the sixtieth anniversary of the orchestra’s foundation. Since 1997, they have been on tour in many countries at festivals such as the Latino Americano festival in 1997 in Italy, the Nuits de Fourvières in 2000 in France, or the Kavala Festival in Greece.
More than a musical style, the ORQUESTA ARAGÓN has remained true to the spirit of its founder, this amateur who dreamed of a family governed by the love of music, and not by the desire for wealth.
