On the occasion of the end-of-year celebrations, the Port of Nice will once again welcome nearly 2,800 cruise passengers this year.
From December 31, 2010, to January 2, 2011, two cruise ships will make a stopover at the Port of Nice.
Cruise passengers will be given a “shopping” map in English and Italian to help them navigate the tourist sites and shops of the port, the Old Town of Nice, and the city center.
The Port of Nice also plans to provide a free intra-port shuttle on December 31, January 1, and 2 to facilitate these cruise passengers’ travel to the city.
This initiative aims to bring together commerce and tourism stakeholders to enhance the “shopping” information for these short-stay cruise passengers.
It aligns with the missions of the French Riviera Cruise Club (whose founding members are the CCI, CRT, and the tourism offices of Cannes, Nice, and Villefranche-sur-Mer) which aim to:
โ unite all tourism professionals of the โCรดte dโAzurโ destination
โ be a preferred contact for cruise companies and their clients
โ offer innovative and quality products in excursions and discovery of our department
โ raise local decision-makers’ awareness of the significant economic benefits generated by cruises
To end the year on a high note and celebrate New Year’s Eve together, the Port of Nice will organize a fireworks display on December 31 at midnight.
