On Wednesday, May 11 and Saturday, May 28, the Museum of Asian Arts offers introductory courses in overtone singing at 2:30 PM, under the direction of Gรฉrard Bertin.
Overtone singing is a very ancient vocal art, practiced throughout the Altai region. In the past, singers who excelled in this art were shepherds living in the remote foothills of Western Mongolia.
This generic term applies when a singer superimposes two sounds simultaneously with their voice.
