On Monday, January 21, 2013, at 4 PM, Mr. Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, and Mr. Jean-Pierre Galvez, President of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Alpes-Maritimes, will present their 2012 report on employment, apprenticeships, business transfer, and takeover.
Supporting the primary sector of activity in Alpes-Maritimes.
The economic fabric of craftsmanship is the main sector of activity in our territory, and artisan businesses are at the heart of the local economy of our department.
Since 2009, the General Council has been committed alongside the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Alpes-Maritimes through an agreement whose objectives are: to promote the transfer and takeover of these businesses, to develop employment, and to support artisanal businesses in implementing regulations on accessibility for disabled people.
In 2012, a new objective was added: to develop apprenticeships.
Securing the future through business transfer-takeover and recruiting apprentices: 6,600 artisan businesses, or 25% of the artisan businesses in the department, have a manager over 55 years old.
These figures demonstrate that business transfer-takeover remains a major challenge for the departmental economy.
