The theme is certainly topical (See our article from January 30). Rudy Salles, a Nice deputy, intervened in the Commission on Cultural Affairs and Education at the National Assembly, representing the UDI group, on the Draft Law for the Re-founding of the school.
According to Rudy SALLES, “school is a priority and its reform a constant necessity,” but, he made a point of highlighting, “in many aspects, the presented project seems a bit lukewarm: it pays particular attention to primary school, while the reform of middle and high schools is scarcely addressed. The new educational organizations, the content of teacher training, the redefinition of teachers’ missions are invisible… vocational training is absent from the discussion, and what can be said about the increase in the number of teachers while the number of hours of personalized teaching is reduced!”
For the Nice parliamentarian, this project is far from being a re-foundation. To him, this word even seems a bit excessive. “The National Council of Higher Education and Research has also very massively rejected this draft law, by 25 votes to 5. In Nice, a wide consultation on the reform of school rhythms was launched among the educational community. 16,495 responses were obtained. The result was unequivocal: the reform is rejected by more than 75%.”
This is why, during his intervention, Rudy SALLES assured that the UDI group would remain vigilant about the intentions displayed by the government. He expects actions that respond to the demands of the students, their families, the teaching community.
“This matter deserves better than ideological measures dictated by the Socialist Party. It requires a national consensus. The government is far from it!”
