The municipality of Saint-Laurent-du-Var and the organization of the Beach Sport Festival have confirmed the cancellation of Patrick Bruel’s concert, scheduled for July 21, 2026 on Cousteau Beach.
This decision was made by the artist’s production company. In a statement, the organizers indicate that this choice “became necessary with responsibility and understanding” in the current context. The Beach Sport Festival also acknowledges the anticipation generated by this evening among the public and shares the disappointment of affected spectators.
A judicial context in the background
This cancellation comes as several legal proceedings are currently targeting Patrick Bruel. The accusations concern alleged facts of rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault. Three investigations are open in Paris, Saint-Malo, and Belgium.
Through his lawyers, Patrick Bruel contests all accusations and denies any “violence,” “brutality,” or “coercion.”
Testimony collected in these cases mentions alleged facts that would span nearly thirty years. The oldest accusations date back to 1991. A complaint with civil party status for rape was notably filed by Flavie Flament.
The question of the statute of limitations for the oldest facts is now among the issues being examined in the various ongoing proceedings.
Automatic ticket refunds
People who have already purchased a ticket will receive a full refund via the Weezevent platform before the end of June. The refund will be made automatically by crediting back to the bank card according to the payment method used at the time of booking. No particular action will be required from buyers.
Despite this cancellation, the municipality of Saint-Laurent-du-Var and the Beach Sport Festival organization are continuing to prepare the summer event. An announcement is planned for June 11.
