Last Friday, a 6th-grade class from Jules Romains Middle School spent the afternoon at the IPAG Nice premises to meet, for the first time, the students of the Master Media Manager program who will assist them in creating their first radio show. This show will be broadcast during the School Press and Media Week.
The students of the 6th C Digital Media Class, accompanied by their teachers Jean-Paul Delbrayelle, Ingrid Bernardini, and Gaëlle Assoune, were first welcomed by Philippe Dorey, the director of IPAG Nice. After a brief presentation of the school, Franck Viano, the educational coordinator of the Master Media Manager program, took the floor. For about an hour and a half, the students received training on the techniques of producing a radio show. All aspects were covered, including topics to be addressed, rights, techniques, safety, and the roles of each participant were assigned. The students participated with great insight and took note of the valuable advice given by their chief editor for the day.
Then came the time to meet the students from the Master Media Manager program. They too have created their own Web Radio: Radio Ipag. The interactions between the budding journalists of all ages were dynamic and productive. It was decided that the students would help and accompany the groups of middle schoolers in writing the different segments of their future radio show.
Also present were Lilia Parisot, Academic Delegate for Media Information Education from the Nice Rectory, and Eric Golginger, Director of Education for the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, representing its President, Eric Ciotti.
The meeting concluded with a quick visit to the Radio Ipag studio, a snack, and a group photo. The 6th C class now has a lot of work to do; the radio show must be ready for the School Press and Media Week, which will take place from March 25 to March 29, 2013.
