From Lyon to Montpellier, passing through Tours and of course Nice, the 15th “Printemps des Poรจtes” will set up in many cities across France. The event was presented yesterday morning at the Mediterranean University Center.
After 3 days of the Marianne debates last week, the Mediterranean University Center witnessed the presentation of the 15th edition of the “Printemps des Poรจtes” by Muriel Marland-Militello, Deputy Delegate for Cultural Influence, and Jacques Vidal, Municipal Councilor Delegate for Literature.
10,000 events organized in 100 cities and villages in France from March 9 to 24. For this 15th edition, the Chilean author and diplomat Pablo Neruda will be honored, 40 years after his passing. For more than 3 weeks, the Mediterranean University Center, the Louis Nucรฉra Library, and neighborhood libraries will offer meetings, concerts, conferences, screenings, readings, and other workshops.
The goal is also to link this Spring with the 7th Francophonie Games, which will take place in Nice next September, offering “The Voices of the Francophonie”. It’s a great way to discover or rediscover French and international poetic heritage. But you can also contribute your piece to the edifice. For the third consecutive year, the City of Nice invites residents, both children and adults, to express their poetic talents through the Poetry Forum. This year’s theme is “All the Voices of the Francophonie”. You have until Saturday to submit your prose. Your poems will be reviewed by a jury chaired by Olympia Alberti, novelist, poet, literary critic, and doctor of letters specializing in comparative literature on Colette, Giono, and Marguerite Duras. Seven winners will be chosen and will have the honor of hearing their works read in public at the Louis Nucรฉra Library (auditorium) on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, starting at 4 PM, in the presence of Jacques Vidal.
In Antibes, on Saturday, March 9, it’s “Place au poรจme”, a massive wave of poetry readings in public spaces. By involving high school students, conservatory students, association volunteers, theater companies… simple and direct readings will be multiplied, without staging or technical deployment, in streets, cafes, squares, markets, and cultural and social centers.
