The General Council of Alpes-Maritimes continues its commitment to family nature sports.
For this 5th edition, the Challenge Trail Nature 06 will include 11 sports and nature events between the sea and the mountains from February 12 to October 28, offering 19 races.
In 2011, 2,851 participants (2,257 men and 564 women) were ranked in the overall Challenge, a race awarded the “Sustainable Development, Sport Committed” label from CNOSF. This label certifies the exemplary nature of the initiative in light of the “Agenda 21 of French Sport” and the “Sport for Sustainable Development Charter”.
The rules to be followed are formalized in an eco-citizen charter entitled “The trail, my nature…”. Everyone can also sign a mural “The Tree of My Nature”, testifying to their commitment to nature preservation for the charter. In 2008, 1,100 signatures were collected, 1,500 in 2009, 3,000 in 2010, and more than 3,000 in 2011.
– The Challenge Trail Nature 06 consists of two categories: men and women. It is open to everyone over the age of 18 and will reward the top 5 men and top 5 women in all categories, as well as the top 3 teams.
Balconies over the Mediterranean with the volcanic rocks of Estérel through the Baou of Saint-Jeannet, the midland with the Paillon Valley, the Audibergue Plateau, and Mentonnais, the highland with the valleys of Gordolasque, Vésubie, and Roya, up to the snowy slopes of Castérino, this 5th edition of the Challenge Trail Nature 06, organized in partnership with the departmental off-road racing commission (CDCHS), offers sports routes in exceptional natural sites in our department with a spirit of respect and promotion of this environment.
Sports and Nature Activities for All –
Family Walk , sportive hikes with no ranking at stake for everyone on the official race courses.- “Nature Walks” dedicated to nature discovery, initiation, and raising awareness about ecosystems on the official course of the Challenge Trail Nature 06 events. They will be accompanied by agents from the Departmental Natural Parks and guides, true professionals in the fauna and flora of our department.

A Bio Pack is provided to organizers by the General Council for each race, with biodegradable or recyclable elements: 12 km of tape, 1,000 signage panels, 15,000 cups for refreshments including the use of 3,530 reusable cups, 5,000 biodegradable race bibs.

information on selective sorting and waste recycling;
free loan of electric bikes;
presence of the “health info bus” with information on nutrition, hydration, and sun prevention;
