THE FLEEING ONES (Cie Les Choses de Rien)

Seemingly effortlessly, Boris Gibé and Camille Boitel take us to unstable lands, at the doorstep of a burlesque universe, somewhat out of sync, combining acrobatic dance, aerial circus, physical theater, music, and video projection to explore a new form of raw poetry. Their new creation, The Fleeing Ones, is a metaphorical depiction of the world. Here, an absurd, dehumanized world is portrayed with humor and irony, where no sensory reference is certain; where five chameleon-like artists are as much actors as victims of the micro-society they create; where the virtual mingles with the real. But what reality is it? Everything in this empty, enclosed space is possible, mobile, deformable. It’s all an illusion. Shifting scenery and bodies in perpetual transformation… The Fleeing Ones deconstructs our references and plays with our trust in the image.
