From Monday, July 11 to Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Forum Jacques Médecin
After the Boxing Gala, the succession of Beach Volleyball and Sandball tournaments, and the introduction to Wrestling, it’s time for Beach Soccer to kick off the second week of Masséna 100% Sport and make its debut in the arena!
From amateur to professional Beach Soccer, Masséna Square will host dozens of participants over four days, all enthusiasts of this immensely popular beach sport.
There will be activities for children and a youth tournament featuring teams from Nice clubs, with the winner earning the chance to represent the City of Nice in Rome at the grand European final.
Finally, the “International Beach Soccer” event will bring together players who have competed in top European clubs and offer an exceptional lineup featuring France, Italy, Argentina, and the Netherlands.
Created in 1992, Beach Soccer pits 2 teams of 5 players against each other in three 12-minute periods. The sand favors acrobatic moves and demands technique, speed, and reflexes.
Beach Soccer is more spectacular than traditional grass football, making it appealing to a wider audience.
