The City of Nice and its delegation for Historical Heritage, Archaeology, Niรงoise Language and Culture, led by Jean-Marc Giaume, invite you, until May 2012, to attend conferences on the theme โNice, capital of the French Riviera.โ These will allow you, thanks to eminent speakers, to shed light on the three centuries of English presence in Nice.
The British, pioneers of winter vacation in the former County of Nice from the 19th century, exported their lifestyles and had a tendency to bet, which led them to play at Monte-Carlo. While they have given their name to a celebrated promenade, they also left various traces of their accommodations, thus shaping the urban geography of Niceโฆ
