As part of the Rugby World Cup, which will take place in New Zealand from September 9 to October 23, 2011, Christian Estrosi, along with the two locals from Nice, Jeff Tordo and his friend Stéphane Cipre, invite you to the unveiling of the sculpture “The Countervalues of Rugby,” which will then be donated to the New Zealand Rugby Federation.

Leaving a lasting impression, conveying a message, and teaching the values of rugby are the essential principles that the two friends wanted to share with this artwork.

Made of welded aluminum and cast aluminum, this imposing sculpture, measuring 3.60 x 2.20 x 3.50 meters and weighing over 2 tons, takes the form of 2 rugby players in the action of a scrum, not fighting against their opponents, but against a wall of words: selfishness, racism, drugs, individualism…

It represents a strong message to the present and future generations, shattering these flaws of our society.
