Visit on Monday, March 19, 2012, to the site of the upcoming boarding school of excellence at the International Center of Valbonne with the presence of high school students who, since this year, benefit from this program intended for motivated students who do not have a supportive environment to succeed in their studies.

The restructuring of the Fรฉniรจres building corresponds to a residence project on 4 levels with 155 rooms and a cafeteria, which will ultimately accommodate 151 students from disadvantaged backgrounds in a privileged scientific, cultural, and sports environment. The funding (โ‚ฌ7.384 million) is provided with โ‚ฌ6 million by the State, through the National Agency for Urban Renewal (ANRU) as part of the “Boarding Schools of Excellence and Equal Opportunities” future investment program, and โ‚ฌ1.384 million equally shared between the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes and the Sophia-Antipolis Agglomeration Community.

With the establishment of a boarding school of excellence at the International Center of Valbonne (CIV), the Nice academy offers two boarding schools of excellence (including that of Nice), with major objectives being academic success and personal development for each student. In the 2012 school year, 30 high school students, including 24 new 10th-grade students, will be able to benefit at the CIV from this new institution, which is innovative in its operation and educational and pedagogical offerings, with highly personalized supervision and follow-up.

The boarding school of excellence is a measure for promoting equal opportunities, established in 2008, and has been listed among national priorities financed by the national loan since 2009. Ultimately, the future investment program aims to open 20,000 “boarding school of excellence” places.
