UNTIL NOVEMBER 6TH AT THE GARDENS OF THE INTERNATIONAL PERFUMERY MUSEUM IN MOUANS SARTOUX
In 2011, the Gardens of the International Perfumery Museum in Mouans-Sartoux present the first summer exhibition featuring the artist Bernard Abril, a renowned visual artist from the Alpes-Maritimes, from June 1st to November 6th, 2011.
– Bernard Abril remains one of the most promising contemporary French visual artists in this artistic expression form known as drawing in space.
Exhibiting in natural spaces or gardens, the artist’s work aligns with the concerns of Land Art, a subtle ephemeral art, created here using plant materials.
Through the use of bamboo, creating life-sized poetic configurations, Bernard Abril indirectly inscribes his pure and graceful forms into the landscape in the manner of calligraphic writing.
For his exhibition in the Gardens of the International Perfumery Museum, he incorporates an olfactory component into his works to give them an immaterial aura. He reuses and constructs his works from materials used in perfume factories of the past and present: enfleurage frames, jute bags, containers for raw materials, among others.
