Jean Cortese is a highly talented sculptor who created the “gun tampions” for the most famous ships of the 20th century. The jewels of his collection will be exhibited throughout the summer in an original scenography.

The gun tampion is a wooden plug that protected the inside of warship cannons from moisture and sea salt. Today, the gun tampion is a decorative item, a traditional gift appreciated by all sailors, featuring the bronze coat of arms of the ship mounted on a varnished wooden base.
