Crowned as the capital of the Perfume Rose in 1907, with a production of 600 tons of petals, La Colle-sur-Loup, each year with the return of spring, celebrates its favorite flower “the centifolia,” which was cultivated in the commune in the 19th century.


rose_colle_sur_loup.jpg Thus, throughout the day, at the heart of the decorated and flowered village, set against a backdrop of jazz and folk music, the rose is omnipresent. A flower-decked bicycle competition organized by the Festival Committee, period re-enactments in the former cooperative, creative workshops for children around the rose, creation of perfume cream, a little gardener workshop, discovery of aromatic plants and Provencal scents.

Discover an exhibition of floral compositions and a painting exhibition “Perfumes” centered around the rose.

The rose is showcased in multiple ways, down to the stalls offering in a festive ambiance a wide choice of plants, decorative items, local products… flavors and scents around the rose.

For one day, the rose festival, whose creation dates back to May 1954, charmingly brings to life an aspect of La Colle-sur-Loup’s rich heritage.
