Mr. Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, visited the restoration works of the organ of the former Chapel of Providence.
-The restoration of the oldest organ in Nice
The organ of the former Chapel of Providence, an 18th-century Piedmontese organ classified as a historical monument, will undergo extensive restoration. All elements will be checked and restored during the operation. The work, amounting to 182,000 euros, is funded 80% by the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes and DRAC, each contributing 72,800 euros.
-The rebirth of a historical instrument
This intervention will make the organ available to the students of the music school of the Association la Semeuse. Concerts will also be organized to discover or rediscover the sounds of this exceptional instrument, one of the few remaining witnesses of the organs from the Ancien Rรฉgime.
