The atmosphere was festive. As President Jean-Pierre Rivรจre reminded us, the Gambardella Cup was the only title missing from OGC Nice’s collection. Twice finalists in the competition, the young eaglets ended this drought during the 40th anniversary of their Training Center last Saturday at the Stade de France by defeating Saint-Etienne (2-1) with flair.

“Thank you to this wonderful youth. Both your Mayor and your city are proud of this achievement […] We have a great future. Great teams are built with great infrastructure,” he stated while reminding everyone about the upcoming opening of Nice Stadium. “This victory should encourage us to go further.”
Eric Ciotti: “The Gym is the flagship club of the Alpes-Maritimes. This victory makes us dream, congratulations to the players and the staff for this result.”
Jean-Pierre Rivรจre, president of OGCN: “In my first year at the helm of the club, I have the great pleasure of being the president who wins the Gambardella Cup. It’s a strong symbol for the future of the club. Not all these young players will become professionals, but they will remember this magnificent journey for the rest of their lives. Some of them will be future players of our professional team. Itโs a wonderful prospect for our future as well as theirs.”
