Desecration of Graves in Carros: Citizen Gathering

Latest News

This Friday, May 4th, at 6 PM, in front of the town hall in Carros.

The desecration of nine graves in the Muslim section of the Carros cemetery on the night of Saturday, April 28th to Sunday, April 29th has inspired feelings of indignation, astonishment, and also anger in the Municipality. Beyond the Muslim community, the entire population of Carros is currently in shock. These heinous acts must not go unpunished, and every effort must be made to find and hold to account the perpetrator or perpetrators.

Antoine Damiani, Mayor of Carros, stated: “Our fierce determination to fight against all forms of intolerance, xenophobia, and hatred toward others compels us, under these circumstances, to go further.

Thus, the Municipality calls on all humanists and everyone committed to respecting the values of the Republic and democracy, fundamentally based on the spirit of liberty, equality, and fraternity, whether they come from the Carros district or elsewhere, to gather in front of the town hall this Friday, May 4th at 6 PM.”

This demonstration will be an opportunity to provide unwavering support to all the communities affected by this vile desecration.
