Prince Albert II of Monaco sent a letter of congratulations to François Hollande, the new President of the French Republic.
In this letter, the Prince wishes the new president good luck during this time of crisis and desires that France and Monaco continue to work together, especially in the areas of the environment and the Mediterranean issue.
“I want to express my warm congratulations on your accession to the supreme responsibility of President of the Republic and extend my warm wishes for the success of your mission in the service of France, in national unity, during a complex period marked by crises.
You know my commitment to the quality of the relations between the French Republic and the Principality of Monaco.
Together, we will continue and further strengthen these ties woven by history for such a long time. The preservation of the environment, the issue of the Mediterranean, as a link between its shores and a place for the dialogue of civilizations, constitute areas in which our two countries can cooperate even more closely.
