The parliamentarian explains that the first symptoms appeared the day after the municipal elections in Nice and Éric Ciotti’s victory at the presidency of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. « More than a month ago, the day after this beautiful but exhausting municipal election campaign and my friend Éric Ciotti’s victory, worrying symptoms appeared in my face », states Christelle D’Intorni in her video.
The deputy then underwent a series of tests at the Pasteur 2 University Hospital in Nice. « And then on April 9th, a word is spoken, a diagnosis comes, multiple sclerosis. So at that moment, everything becomes overwhelming. My life, my children, my mandate, what will happen? »

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. This condition causes inflammatory reactions with symptoms that vary from patient to patient. In France, several hundred thousand people live with an autoimmune chronic disease. Multiple sclerosis mainly affects young adults and evolves differently depending on the case.
In this statement, Christelle D’Intorni specifies that she was quickly taken care of by the MS department teams at the Nice University Hospital and by Professor Lebrun Frenay. The deputy affirms that her health condition is now stabilized. « I can reassure you about my health condition which is stabilized, which allows me to continue exercising my mandate that you entrusted to me. »
The deputy from Alpes-Maritimes acknowledges, however, that the disease will require adjustments in daily life and in the exercise of her duties. « I am aware that my condition will require me to work somewhat differently », explains Christelle D’Intorni, mentioning in particular periods of fatigue and certain constraints related to treatments.
The parliamentarian also affirms she wants to give a voice to people with autoimmune chronic diseases. « I will be the voice of all those who live like me, with autoimmune chronic diseases, often in silence, and who face unjust obstacles every day. »
