The Commune of La Gaude Water and Sustainable Development Day, like World Water Day, is an annual event that aims to promote exchanges between the public in the mid-region and local stakeholders, experts, and both public and private participants in the water sector.
This Sunday, June 23, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Ugecam Park, there will be a series of conferences on the topic of water management both locally and in southern countries, booths featuring organizations active in the water and sustainable development sector, as well as fun and educational activities for children.
This year, the company Anemoos, which manufactures wind turbines from recycled polymers, has joined the initiative, allowing the day’s theme to expand towards sustainable development and particularly renewable energies.
The objective of the day is to present to the public, especially the young, projects from associations, companies, and public services active in water and environmental protection, focusing particularly on concrete examples of innovative initiatives at both local and international levels.
To achieve this, IN.E.S and Anemoos will offer a series of conferences, enjoyable activities, and invite interested organizations to set up booths to present their activities.
The day is structured around three groups of activities:
A cycle of conferences on the theme of water, cooperation, and sustainable development.
The presentations will tackle issues related to water access and management as well as environmental concerns in developing countries, but also locally.
Visiting stands held by local institutions and companies in the sector.
These stands will be opportunities to present innovative projects and introduce active organizations in the water and sustainable development sector.
Games and educational activities for children on the theme of drinking water and renewable energies (aero-generator wind turbine, mini water purification station, etc.).
Children will be the focal point of the day: although certain level conferences are more geared towards adults, numerous activities will be organized for the children.
The organizers will try to build bridges between the conference themes and children’s activities.
Fun games and activities: a game of goose, water-related stories, painting and others to imagine, group aerial photo, mini-treatment station, wind turbine, solid water, a mural on the theme of water to create, fishing game, water glass race, microscope to view bacteria in untreated water, etc.
