With nearly 38,000 spectators over 5 evenings and one sold-out night, the Nice Jazz Festival lived up to all its promises, notably with a program that managed to attract a large audience.

And yet, this year, there were additional challenges with the construction work for the future “coulée verte” which complicated the installation of diverse structures, including 2,500 m2 of flooring set up for the occasion. Overall expenses amounted to €3,187,269, including €290,000 related to the “coulée verte” work, which will no longer exist for future editions, resulting in a net cost of €1,721,889. In 2013, expenses were €3,064,635 with revenue of €1,081,233.

In a generally unfavorable context where some festivals are canceled due to a lack of audience, the Nice Jazz Festival managed skillfully to turn the situation to its advantage with ticket prices still at €35 (the national average being €40) and a smart programming that attracted a diverse audience.

The Nice Jazz Festival 2013 is dead, long live the Nice Jazz Festival 2014!
