The Aรฉroports de la Cรดte dโAzur (ACA), the second-largest airport company in France after Aรฉroports de Paris (Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports) in terms of commercial traffic with 11.2 million passengers in 2012, and also second after Paris-Le Bourget in terms of business aviation with approximately 42,500 movements in 2012, announced today that it has acquired 99.9% of the shares of Aรฉroport du Golfe de Saint-Tropez (AGST) company, which was owned by the Reybier group, the majority shareholder for nearly fifteen years.
The integration of the Aรฉroport du Golfe de Saint-Tropez into the Aรฉroports de la Cรดte dโAzur seems particularly relevant, especially in light of their shared ambition for excellence at the European level.
The region as a whole will benefit from a diversified and high-quality service offering, which will enhance the attractiveness of the territory.
After this operation, all that remains for the Nice Airports is to look towards Italy, specifically the Genoa airport, still awaiting privatization, to take control of the Italian Rivieraโs tourist offer and make it a coordinated ensemble, a true European hub.
AGST is the operator of the Saint-Tropez Airport, which handled about 7,000 business aviation movements in 2012, bringing the total number of business movements for ACA to nearly 50,000 movements (pro-forma 2012 including Nice, Cannes-Mandelieu, and Saint-Tropez).
The Saint-Tropez Airport has thus become a vector of recognition and image on a national and international level, consolidating the indisputable status of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez in the global high-end tourism landscape and actively contributing to the region’s economic development. According to the latest study conducted in December 2012, the economic impact of the airport is estimated at more than 170 million euros.
