Jean-Marie Cavada (European Movement-France) in Nice for a Europe that dares

Latest News

Jean-Marie Cavada has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2004 and is the president of the European Movement-France, the oldest movement supporting the political construction of Europe, founded in 1948. He will be in Nice for a debate on Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 PM at the Westminster Hotel (27 Promenade Des Anglais).

euro-4.jpg For Jean-Marie Cavada, “Europe is in peril.” It is continually confronted with the competition from emerging powers, its abyssal public debts, as well as the nationalist withdrawal and rise of the extremes. And yet, there is no question of letting our guard down.

For him, “if it were considered that national interests go against European interests, it would be legitimate to defend them against Europe. However, this is false! The interests of the States stem exclusively from the central interest of the European Union.”

The 27 member states will therefore need to implement, in the short term, a truly common economic governance.

Prefiguration, why not, of a Europe finally united and federal?
