The Allianz Riviera will be inaugurated on September 22nd during the Ligue 1 match between OGC Nice and FC Valenciennes. This match will be preceded by numerous events on the forecourts, an inaugural show, and other festivities that spectators will discover before the match, during halftime, and after the event. The ticket sales are scheduled to open on September 6th.
Built in record time, only 25 months of work for a new-generation facility of 54,000 m² with 45,000 seats, the Allianz Riviera engaged more than 1,000 workers at the peak of its activity.
The Allianz Riviera represents the first structuring project of the Eco-Valley project, a vast urban and territorial development program classified as a project of national interest.
A true model of eco-construction, the Allianz Riviera is a structuring and multifunctional facility worthy of the 5th largest city in France, but also offers OGC NICE the stadium that the club deserved.
Designed by Wilmotte & Associates S.A. and built by VINCI, it has been entirely conceived within the standards of the Grenelle Environment agreement, thus becoming one of the very first Eco-Stadiums in the world.
OGC Nice, the resident club of the Allianz Riviera, will be able to continue its development and open up new perspectives thanks to this facility which will host the Euro 2016.
