The 3rd International Basketball Tournament “Laure Ecard” is organized by the union of Nice basketball societies and the City of Nice.
This tournament, open to the public free of charge, honors the memory of Laure, a young player from Nice Cavigal Olympique, who tragically passed away on April 6, 2008, as well as that of Gilles Renard, who lost his life coming to her aid. It also pays tribute to the courage of Laure’s parents, who are at the heart of this beautiful project marking a true moment of sharing.
Organized at the Salle Leyrit, a prominent venue for basketball in Nice and sports on the French Riviera, this tournament has earned its rightful place in the Nice sports calendar.
