Architecture takes up residence in Cannes.

The second edition of the “Great Architecture Festival Evening” held its event this Friday in Cannes. The evening, entitled “Beyond the Walls,” brought together various architecture professionals.

Architecture was showcased in all its forms at Cannes’ Forville market halls. Represented as art, attendees could admire drawings and paintings by anonymous artists. Life-sized, sometimes imposing sculptures stood there, frozen in time.

The “Great Architecture Festival Evening” unveiled a often misunderstood field. Professionals like P. Gaigher, the commercial director of the “Burotik” group, attended this event for the first time. He stated, “I am here to promote office products, large-format scanners.” At this exhibition, potential clients, especially from the architecture sector, were ready to make purchases.

Landscape architects also had their own stand. Their aim is to promote the profession and showcase it to the public. On the occasion of the “Great Architecture Festival Evening,” they highlighted the vertical garden, a true urban nature.

Bernard Deriviรจre, president of the architecture house (Villa Romรฉe) and of this event, asserts, “We bring architecture into contact with and to the knowledge of the public, to interested people…” He adds, “it is precisely thanks to the city hall that we are able to organize such an event.”

Many architects, whether they are designers, interior, or landscape architects, belong to Villa Romรฉe (house of architecture). They have personally volunteered some of their time to represent their profession. Jean Gaillot, an interior architect, explains, “We are volunteers, we exhibit what we love, architecture.”
