Launch of the “Junior Safeguard” operation

Latest News

For the fourth consecutive year, from Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 27, children attending the municipal and associative leisure centers in the city of Nice this summer will be able to participate in the national operation “Junior Rescue.”

Organized by the Sea Rescuers (SNSM) and Groupama, this operation aims to raise awareness among 7-12 year olds about coastal risks, and to develop their individual responsibility so that they can ensure their own safety through training based on four educational pillars:

ยท “I know the dangers”: Become aware of dangers and ensure one’s own safety in the water;

ยท “I know how to raise the alarm”: Be attentive to others, recognize a risky situation, and know how to raise the alarm;

ยท “I protect my skin”: Protect one’s skin against the dangers of the sun;

ยท “I respect nature”: Know, respect, protect the environment and adopt exemplary behavior.

Training sessions of about an hour, both fun and educational, will be provided to the children around an information stand operated by a competent team. At the end of this program, the children will receive a diploma and a “Junior Rescue” T-shirt, symbolizing their commitment to adhering to the safety rules they have learned, which will accompany them throughout their lives as citizens.

Between 2009 and 2011, in Nice, more than 5,700 children were trained in coastal and sun-related risks during the summer.
