The General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, in partnership with the Departmental Sailing Committee and the host municipality, is organizing for the seventh consecutive year the Handi Sailing 06 Tour, offering free activities accessible to people with disabilities – any type of disability – and seniors at various accessible beach sites. A summer event conducive to escape, discovery, and sharing.
On Tuesday, July 17, and Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Cap d’Ail, the Marquet accessible beach will host the Handi Sailing 06 Tour.
At each stage of the 2012 Handi Sailing 06 Tour, four one-hour sea trips are offered aboard trimarans of the Departmental Sailing Committee 06 and canoes-kayaks with or without an instructor.
They accommodate about twenty people for sailing and four to six for canoe-kayaking. Departures are scheduled at 9:30 AM, 11 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3 PM by reservation.
A Commitment to Sustainable Development
To enhance participants’ awareness of this theme, a Charter “The Sea,… My Nature” has been created to highlight the values of nautical activities in respect of the environment. Displayed on a large banner, everyone can commit to respecting these values and become a messenger of the Charter by signing it.
An intergenerational link… a little novelty this year, this initiative is also offered to seniors.
Schedule of the different stages of the 2012 Handi Sailing 06 Tour:
Cap-Martin: July 21, Mandelieu-La Napoule Nautical Center: July 27 and 28, Cannes Nautical Center: July 30 and 31, Bijou Plage Antibes Accessible Beach: August 3 and 4, Ponteil Accessible Beach.
Last summer, nearly 500 people benefited from more than 900 sea trips on different vessels, adapted trimarans, collective boats, and canoe-kayaks.
