This Monday, November 11, the day commemorating the memory of the First World War, “the Great War,” will have as its highlight the Armistice ceremony scheduled for 4 PM at the War Memorial of Rauba Capeu.
As part of the events, a reenactment of a World War I bivouac with cannons, machine guns, actors in period costumes and equipment, and cavalry in uniform and their mounts will be presented to remind us of the context of the time.
This animated military camp will be set up on the Quai des รtats-Unis (at the level of Beau Rivage Beach) and open to the public from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. The cavalry and some of the actors in period uniforms will parade up the Quai des รtats-Unis to the location of the ceremony.
About forty actors in uniforms, in homage to the “poilus,” around ten cavalry members with their mounts and three auxiliaries will invite you on this journey through time: a field kitchen where hot coffee will be served, an infirmary tent, a tent for the headquarters, a blacksmith, a cobblerโฆ
