In the midst of a heated controversy with the president of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, Eric Ciotti, who wants to remove him from his position as mayor of Saint Martin Vรฉsubie for โ€œlack of motivation,โ€ the elected European deputy receives a series of awards for his actions at the local level. It is known that Gaston Franco places the environment at the heart of his political action, both locally and at the European level.

On the occasion of the 2013 Mayors’ Fair, Gaston Franco received the Golden Marianne for sustainable development for environmental protection. It is the commitment and actions carried out over many years that were rewarded by the Golden Marianne Committee.

The European Deputy also just received the first prize of the “Agir” competition from the Regional Council. This prize rewards municipalities that have committed to energy control and the development of renewable energies.

These past few days, the General Council also recognized his local action by awarding him the 2nd Climate Energy trophy, a prize that once again highlights sustainable development.

At the end of October, the European Parliament adopted with near-unanimity Gaston Franco’s report on the 7th Environmental Action Program, which sets the direction for European environmental policies for the next seven years.

Lack of motivation, you say?
