Annual Meeting for Artistic Film Education in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region

Latest News

After the Government launched the National Project for Artistic and Cultural Education, Aurélie Filippetti set up the steering committee for the “National Consultation on Artistic and Cultural Education” on November 21, chaired by Marie Desplechin.

These initiatives notably examine the question of school time in relation to children’s free time. Indeed, some time could be freed up in the afternoon for activities dedicated to sports and Artistic and Cultural Education, considering that a child currently has 2000 hours of free time per year, 1000 hours at school, and 750 hours in front of media.

In light of these initiatives, L’ECLAT, the Regional Center for Artistic Education and Cinema Training in the PACA region, alongside the Alhambra CinéMarseille and the Institut de l’Image in Aix-en-Provence, is organizing a regional meeting on the topic of artistic transmission aimed at all parties concerned or interested in education in cinema, images, and media (artists, filmmakers, mediators, educators, cinema operators, program coordinators, library and media library staff, teachers of all disciplines, personnel from Culture, Education, Youth, Urban Policy, Regional Planning services, territorial communities, etc.).

The 2012 annual meeting will take place in Nice, at the Villa Arson, on Friday, December 14, under the theme “Artistic Experience, a Societal Issue?”. The day will explore several avenues: youth and their digital environment, “off-track” programming situations, the “all-image” society, drawing from targeted experiences and interventions.
