Exhibition “Nissa”: Photos in Tribute to the City

Latest News

The Photon collective takes over the hall of the Gare du Sud in Nice. 22 photographers showcase their photos of the city. Black and white, retouched or raw, in total there are 60 prints that curious visitors can come and admire.

“Nissa, the capital as you have never seen it.” This is how Christian Nicot, the founder of the Photon association, describes this exhibition. Around twenty photographers from the collective participated in this project. Each in their own way, they decided to represent Nice with one or several images each.

A wonderful idea as it allows us to glimpse the vision each person has of the city. While strolling among the numerous images, we admire the iconic places of Nice. But from the photographer’s perspective. We then rediscover the Promenade des Anglais under a different light or the Place Garibaldi through a puddle of water. But it’s especially the freedom given to the photographers that makes the exhibition interesting. Thus, some artists use analog photography, others digital. Influences range from classic to contemporary.

A recognized collective

The collective behind this exhibition is “Photon”. 33 photographers from the Alpes Maritimes organize monthly meetings to discuss their photographic projects. This is the third time the association has organized an exhibition mixing the work of different artists.

Through the exhibitions, the collective shares, discusses, and attracts an ever-growing audience.
