Festive, creative, and exploratory: the 2011 Fรชte du Terroir will lead its visitors, young and old, from one discovery to another!
For its 25th anniversary, the event offers a varied program of entertainment in all directions.
With its thirty exhibitors, the festival will host 4 guests: Jean-Philippe and his show “Bears and Wolves,” the Giens 1900 association and their old trades, Audrey’s workshop for creating unique and personalized perfumes, and the European Academy of Graphic, Plastic, and Photographic Arts with their exhibition of paintings and sculptures.
People of all generations will surely meet at the Fรชte du Terroir: for its 25th edition, the event has concocted a rich program of activities.
As every year, the Fรชte du Terroir will offer a significant platform to more than 30 exhibitors who will present their products and services with expertise and professionalism.
Gastronomy, market, mini-farm, dances and music, games, etc. There will be no shortage of choices when it comes to discoveries and entertainment!
A true fireworks of conviviality for this 25th anniversary where 3,000 visitors are expected!

The Market
Around thirty exhibitors will be present and will offer products for sale:
- artisanal: glass painting, wicker baskets, woodwork, pottery, etc.
- gourmet: charcuterie, biscuits and nougats, mountain cheeses, confectionery, crรชpes and galettes, beekeeping, olives, honey, jams, seasonal vegetables and fruits, etc.
- vegetal: floral compositions, cacti, lavender, green and aromatic plants, etc.
- beauty: perfumes, essential oils, soaps, etc.
THE WORKSHOPS AND THE MINI FARM BRIN DE LAINE
In the heart of the Niรงoise hills, on the “route of the Perched Villages” between Castagniers and St Blaise, enjoying an exceptional green setting lies the Brin de Laine farm.
This farm is involved in wool work, olive oil production… It is also a farm with educational and social purposes that welcomes groups and individuals.
Brin de Laine has kindly agreed to join the event and will present its mini-farm with Angora goats, sheep, a donkey, poultry, etc.
Felting workshops will also be offered for children along with demonstrations of vegetable dyes.
Finally, a 100% natural clothing parade will be organized
CARRIAGE RIDES AND THE MERRY-GO-ROUND
In the shade of the pine trees at Parc Layet, children will enjoy a small carriage ride at the pace of ponies. Two carriages will be available for free for children aged 3 to 10.
A merry-go-round will also be installed on Avenue du 11 novembre for children aged 1-6.
RETRO DANCE DEMONSTRATIONS BY THE DUAL DANCE CLUB
Place de la Rรฉsistance will be the scene of numerous activities throughout this day.
The Dual Dance Club will offer retro dance demonstrations with public initiations. You can learn to dance the waltz, the passo, or the madison!
THE SHOW “BEARS AND WOLVES”
One of the highlights of the day: the show “Bears and Wolves” by Jean-Philippe Roman, animal trainer. Jean-Philippe is as comfortable with his brown bears as with his wolves. The show is playful and paced with tales and legends from our childhood.
Educational, it’s a way to approach and learn more about wild animals, far from the fears of our childhood. Come discover the Grizzly bear and the European wolves.
THE OLD TRADES OF THE GIENS 1900 ASSOCIATION
The Giens 1900 Association is a group of enthusiasts. Their animation pays tribute to the elders, their trades, and the traditions of the Belle รpoque.
The exhibition “Old Trades” where some 40 trades will be represented will make us discover or rediscover the activities of the blacksmith, barber, or even the rabbit-skin merchant. An animation 100% tradition and terroir!
OLD TIME PERFUME CREATION WORKSHOPS
Audrey, a phyto-aromatherapist, offers perfume creation workshops and shares her passion for natural scents. Using extracts from lavender, violet, or rose, Audrey invites you to create your own perfume in a workshop rich in instruction. The day will be punctuated by 5 workshops including 2 for children and 3 for adults.
DANCE MUSIC ANIMATION BY AUDREY AND LIONEL ICART
Audrey and Lionel ICART will set the mood until 10:30 PM for dance lovers. Songs and musical animations will punctuate the day.
