This year, the 06 committee of the League Against Cancer is celebrating its 60th anniversary! The departmental president, Professor Maurice Schneider, reminded the authorities and volunteers of this occasion and wanted to share a drink of friendship with them at the start of this busy year.
60 years, but what youth for this association that continues to pursue its mission: fighting the disease by all means: supporting research, helping patients and their families, and prevention/health.
Two personalities have agreed to be the patrons of this celebration: a native of Nice, actress and comedian Noëlle Perna, and a Niçois at heart, athletics champion Stéphane Diagana, who is one of the flag bearers of the “health-sport” concept at both local and national levels.
Numerous events will mark this anniversary throughout the year. While we will return to the main ones later, it’s worth mentioning the “Living with Cancer Tomorrow” conference on February 4, in conjunction with World Cancer Day, at the Galet de Pasteur 2, and the Gala evening at the Casino Ruhl on April 15.
On this occasion, the Hard Rock Café, which hosted the event, presented the association with a check for more than €7,000 (€4,000 in 2014), which comes from the sale of bracelets to their customers in 2015.
