The Sun Race: William Struyven climbs to the top step of the podium

Latest News

The Sun Race is a must-attend event for running enthusiasts.

Its 21.09 km course is highly sought after by both specialists and amateurs, the former in search of performance, the latter for their enjoyment.

Its first edition took place in March 1905. It is a half-marathon between the port of Nice and the Louis II Stadium in Monaco, passing through the Grande Corniche, with an unbeatable view of the sea. Exceptionally this year, due to a match in Monaco, the finish was at Cap d’Ail.

Its success was confirmed yesterday in an edition that saw more than 1,500 competitors at the starting line, with the cold day, but brightened by a dazzling sun, being a real attraction for the runners.

Stade Laurentin member William Struyven won the Sun Race for the 5th time (non-consecutive) in 1h 14min 49sec.

Nicolas Becker from Menton Marathon came in second, arriving 1’11 after, with a time of 1h 16min 02sec.

Third was Anthony Caverivière from Menton Marathon, with a time of 1h 17min 09sec.
