Rugby Nice – Nancy 15-7
Very good start to the match from the Nice team, with a lot of commitment and focus.
It was only after about ten minutes spent in the opposing half that our winger Christel Astaudo opened the scoring following a very well-executed switch play by our number 10, Sophie Mallau. The opponents quickly reacted by putting pressure on us, trying to play in our territory and challenge us in the scrum.
The Nice team later found solutions in this sector but couldn’t avoid the try from Amélie Peigner, their number 12, which was converted.
It was another winger, Stéphanie André, who allowed the Nice team to regain the lead.
It was the forwards who, in the sixtieth minute, deprived the Nancy team of the defensive bonus by setting up Caroline Janura for the try.
The entire team, as well as the staff (Lydie & Lolie), are very satisfied with this victory. It will allow us to approach the preparation for the match against Chambéry with more serenity.
Lydie (coach): “The match was not easy at all. Our preparation was quite short, and we lacked references. Fortunately, the girls showed solidarity, and this victory allows us to create a positive momentum.”
