To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Science Festival, the dynamic scientific community of the Alpes-Maritimes has once again come together strongly to offer 5 days of activities, games, and entertaining shows around sciences and their applications.

The program in the Alpes-Maritimes, among the events organized in Antibes, Contes, Eze, Grasse, Nice, Sigale, Sophia Antipolis, Vallauris, and Villefranche-sur-Mer, features several large-scale operations with high visibility:

– The 7th edition of the Science Village in Nice, at Valrose and Saint-Jean dโ€™Angรฉly campus,
An unmissable event of the Science Festival in Alpes-Maritimes, with the Valrose village offering over 150 activities on nearly 1500 square meters of stands and scientific spaces organized into thematic quarters, spread over the 7000 square meters of lawn at Parc Valrose, Faculty of Sciences, in the heart of Nice. This year, the village will extend to the Saint-Jean dโ€™Angรฉly campus.

– The 2nd edition of the “Science Weekend of Sophia Antipolis”
Sophia will be celebrating throughout the weekend at the tent village set up around Bermond Farm and at the VSA media library (Garbejaire district) with scientific activities and site visits via free shuttle, highlighted by a treasure hunt (rewarded with numerous prizes), and concerts by musicians who are all scientists (supported by the City of Valbonne).

– โ€œScents and (Al)chemyโ€ in Grasse
To celebrate the International Year of Chemistry and the Year of Overseas Territories, the city of Grasse has partnered with the urban community Pรดle Azur Provence, the PASS Cluster (Perfumes Aromas Scents Flavors), the CNRS, and the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis to offer numerous activities throughout the week in various emblematic locations of the city.

– 1st Science Village / Open Days at the Villefranche Oceanographic Observatory (OOV)
On the occasion of the science festival, the magnificent historical site of the OOV will open its doors to the public and schools to illustrate the importance of chemistry in marine research through fun and attractive workshops, films, exhibitions, a jellyfish aquarium, and sea urchin fertilizations.
