The entrance hall of the Raoul Mille Library will be the exhibition venue for portraits of women for a week, inaugurated on the occasion of Women’s Rights Day.


“All of them, each in her own way, have advanced the cause of freedom and dignity,” stated the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, during his speech.

They are mentioned: Minoo Rassaulzedegan (Biologist at Inserm), Sonia Fiuza (Karateka), Simone Veil (Politician and member of the French Academy), Michรจle Cotta (Journalist), Suzanne Nucรฉra (Widow of Louis Nucรฉra), Denise Perrier (Performer and municipal councilor), Agathe Sophie Sasserno (Poet), Suzanne Lenglen (Tennis player), and Marcelle Tourtel (Public servant).

The mayor of Nice also wanted to remind that the city of Nice was one of the first to sign the “European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life.”
