Robert Injey (FdG): Estrosi in violation of the electoral code?

The Left Front candidate, who was in front of the Nice Opera House with his supporters, denounces an electoral move by the outgoing mayor.

municipales_2014-29.jpg This Wednesday evening, the Mayor of Nice handed out voter cards and citizenship booklets to new voters. According to Robert Injey: “This initiative, from the moment the mayor-candidate declares himself in the campaign, can simply be considered a violation of the law and more specifically of article (R.24-1) that Christian Estrosi himself cites in his letter.”

For the Left Front candidate, Christian Estrosi has already started his campaign since a tweet on February 28 that said, “Well, this is now when the campaign begins! #niceensemble #estrosi2014.”

The misuse of resources (sending of mail, availability of the Opera…) and public office for electoral purposes, according to Robert Injey, raises a real problem. Just like “After the multiplication of inaugurations – often with haste leading to increased expenses like the green flow – here is an initiative that seems to breach the electoral code.”

The Left Front candidate, who wishes to take the matter to court, will still find it difficult to be heard there, as the official opening of the electoral campaign at the national level is scheduled for next Monday, March 10.
