From November 1 to 4, between 7,000 and 10,000 alter-globalists are going to converge on Nice, march through the streets, and organize their G20 “counter-summit” at the former slaughterhouses. On Tuesday, November 1, thousands of alter-globalists and “Indignados” will flood the streets of Nice. Liberté Chérie wonders why? For whom?
They are protesting against the G20 being held in Cannes. The G20 is a meeting of 19 countries plus the European Union, aiming to promote international financial stability and create opportunities for dialogue between industrialized and emerging countries. The G20 represents 85% of global trade and two-thirds of the world’s population.
The alter-globalists therefore oppose dialogue, crisis-fighting, and ultimately the majority of the world’s population!
Their sole fantasy is for each country to lock itself in an isolated fortress, like the dictator Hoxha once did in his red Albania. Of course, they forget to mention that since 1970, the income of developing countries has increased by 184%, and in China, the number of people living in extreme poverty decreased by about 455 million between 1990 and 2005—thanks to the globalization they oppose!
As for the “Indignados,” these unfortunate individuals who brandish only one book for all their culture, that of Stéphane Hessel (22 pages, it’s short and within their grasp), they neither dream nor build anything; they are just against: against everything!
To these pathetic protesters, devoid of culture and nostalgic for a May 1968 they never experienced, we remind them of a phrase by Marx that perfectly sums up their situation: “History always repeats itself twice: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.”
Let’s not forget that the alter-globalists want “another world,” that is, the destruction and burning of the current one!
But who will pay for the inevitable damage caused by these protests?
The organizers may try to reassure local residents and business owners, but they forget to mention that during every “alter-globalist” gathering, violence erupts: in Madrid, New York, Genoa, Johannesburg, Rome… every time they have looted banks and stores, burned cars, caused millions of euros in damage!
Will taxpayers have to eventually pay out of their own pockets for the excesses of these professionals of media-touted violence in organized groups?
The Liberté Chérie Nice Côte d’Azur association therefore regrets that the counter-demonstration is being organized in a densely urban and commercial district in the city center, and consequently regrets the arrival of these cohorts and worries about the damage that these habitual violent and destructive protesters will inflict on our city!
