31 avenue Castellane, Nice

Throughout the year, the Maison de lโ€™Environnement offers a rich program for free with exhibitions, conferences, debates, educational activities, and more.

This Friday, Bernard Leroux, a volunteer at the League for the Protection of Birds PACA (LPO), will present a conference exploring the national parks of the American West and nature conservation.

The American West, this mythical place of vast spaces and cowboys, is today very visited for its immense National Parks, the first that were ever created.

The American West is very wild with nearly deserted areas. What first surprises European visitors is that the relationship with nature there is different from ours: deer, stags, and rabbits frolic just a few meters away from you. Birds are also numerous and not very shy.

Finding oneself amidst bison, prairie dogs, herds of deer, crossing paths with a bear, a snake… Each path offers an unusual encounter!

Through the story and photographs of Bernard Leroux, join the speaker to escape for a moment to the American West…
