This Friday, December 2, the Promenade des Anglais will transform into a giant open-air velodrome with the goal of covering 40,000 km both individually and in teams. Join us from 6 p.m. on the South roadway of the Promenade des Anglais, in front of the Théâtre de Verdure, to participate in this grand and beautiful event while making a donation for the Telethon 2011.
To worthily celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Telethon, the sporting objective of this major charitable operation is to have the people of Nice cover 40,000 kilometers by bike. For this, you can participate individually or in teams, whether you’re family members, members of a sports club, or even colleagues. On this occasion, blue bikes will be made available for participants free of charge.
A dream course, running along the south roadway of the Promenade des Anglais, has been designed for this event, with the start set in front of the Théâtre de Verdure for a circuit extending to Magnan and back to the starting point, thus forming a fantastic loop against the backdrop of the open sea.
The official start will be at 6 p.m. in the presence of Christian Estrosi, who will be accompanied by top-level athletes such as Stéphane Diagana, Fabien Barel, and Marc Raquil.
So from Friday, December 2, until Saturday, December 3, hop on your bikes and come ride the few kilometers that, added to the others, will make up the much-anticipated 40,000 km!
